Salavat Fidai is a very special artist. He left a successful managerial career a few years ago to devote himself solely to art. He now works like freelance artist and illustrator. His latest creations concern the reduction of the works of Van Gogh on matchboxes.
His works mainly concern miniature reproductions. In addition to recreating Van Gogh's most famous paintings on matchboxes, he is involved in making small sculptures by carving the tips of the pencils.
Many people in Russia, his country of origin, and around the world already know the creations of this truly extravagant artist. Since we love Van Gogh's works, we were very impressed with their reproductions on matchboxes.
The matchboxes dedicated to Van Gogh and his creations are part of a series of projects dedicated tominiature art. The precision with which the artist works is unique in the world and allows him to create great little masterpieces not only by carving the tips of the pencils but also by engraving pumpkin seeds.
Van Gogh's paintings however, they always remain very fascinating, even when they are played on a small matchbox, don't you think?
