He launches ecological messages through an art that comes from recycling, spreads the ideals of non-violence using bullets to compose his works: discovering the art of Apollinaire Guidimbaye, aka “Doff” or “Pazzo”.

The Chadian artist Apollinaire Guidimbaye transforms war materials into art to speak of peace. One of his abilities is to revive objects destined to be abandoned and destroyed, making them timeless. The issues he deals with mainly concern environmental protection, children and war victims.

We try to sit around a table to manage our problems without war. That's why I try to work with bullets and other war materials to give them a rebirth. Instead of war and killing, I use the same bullets that left women in mourning to talk about peace.

Doff has always been a tireless collector of various objects and his works are composed of an incredible range of recycled materials, including electrical components, plastic fragments and rusty machinery.

But it wasn't until 2016, when Chad was facing a new insurrection, that he began working with bullets, shaping them to create shapes of flowers, mountains and faceless humans. Many of these silhouettes represent the millions of people who died in wars across the Sahel.

Behind these people who die there are families, widows, orphans who spend their time crying, and this generates more hatred. Today we find child soldiers, street children, children in slavery. If only their parents had not died in the war, these children would still not be forced into child labor

Through his works, Doff wants to demonstrate that Chad is a country that can also assert itself in other fields, with a new generation of artists capable of giving a voice to a multi-ethnic society, in love with culture and peace. For this the artist has created "Fondasia", a collective whose goal is to organize international meetings of contemporary art in N'Djaména.

I want to get Chad out of artistic isolation. This project is certainly ambitious and risky, but I am determined.
