Symbol of the fight against the mafia, the memory of Peppino Impastato is transformed into a mural created by an author whose name is unknown. At the window, smiling and among the flowers, the drawing almost seems to come to life.
Under the image one of his many famous phrases that contain the message that throughout his short life he launched to his Sicily and beyond, that of not bowing to the mafia and silence.
In 1976 Peppino Impastato founded Radio Aut, a self-financed free radio. His voice becomes the tool to denounce Gaetano Badalamenti's mafia crimes and his affairs from Cinisi and Terrasini linked to international drug trafficking and airport control. With the broadcast Onda pazza mocking politicians and mafia members, the latter decide to shut his mouth forever.
In the night between 8 and 9 May he is murdered, but his crime goes almost unnoticed because in the same hours the body of Aldo Moro is found in via Caetani in Rome.
The world of music, cinema and television has always paid homage to Peppino Impastato and for a few days, even in the alleys of Genoa, he has been living. Because the mafia kills but silence as well.
