A monument wanted by the volunteers of the Civil Protection of Ghedi in the Brescia area and dedicated to the four-legged angels who saved many human lives during the earthquakes in L'Aquila and Amatrice. A bronze statue in which dogs sniff under the rubble to find the victims of the earthquake.
But after 24 hours from the official opening, the work was vandalized. Who was so mean as to make such a gesture? Because without detracting from the beauty of the work itself which must be safeguarded as an artistic heritage, this statue is charged with a special meaning and wanted to be a tribute to our four-legged friends who, without asking for anything in return, risk their lives to save. the human one.
The bronze hand was then found in a bush and will therefore be repositioned in the work, but the civil protection of Ghedi commented bitterly on Facebook:
We do not know the meaning of this gesture but we inform you that the hand was found in a bush near the rotunda from which it was taken.
We remember that the meaning that symbolizes the entire monument is only one of peace and solidarity and has no political or color alignments but concerns all citizens regardless of their class, origin and religious and political beliefs.
