The kindergarten where children play in the puddles

The kindergarten where children play in the puddles

In Japan an innovative school is a courtyard that collects rainwater in a giant well for children to play

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Beyond the idolatry of a (questionable) heroine by the name of Peppa Pig, everyone but all children aged 5 and under adore splash around in the rain why not, throwing themselves into the blessed puddles even before mom lets out her cavernous scream.

Happy with them, put them with their feet in the water to splash from one side to the other and make them happy with a humid and marshy happiness that only childhood can give. So why not indulge their primitive instinct of bare feet (if you can!) And buckets of water?

In Japan, you know, they are ahead in everything, even in the kids / water / pranks thing and they have invented a way to give vent to an authentic and childish school-style rain dance.

Kindergarten Dai-Ichi Yochien in the city of Kumamoto in southern Japan, designed by Youji No Shiro, an architectural design studio, has in fact a special innovation that allows children to "be children". Its peculiarity is that of have a courtyard that collects rainwater in a giant well (obvious clean) where the puppets can play undisturbed.

When it is not raining, the space can be used for some sporting practice and can even be converted into an ice rink in the winter. The rest of the open space of the school (which just looking at the photos you spend a thousand euros per second), is based on the principle of favoring the mixing and reorganization of classes, thus favoring creative thinking and management by the school staff. A sort of Montessori method with almond-shaped eyes.

The difference with our schools is obvious, but we could take advantage of it, given that the roofs are already falling on us, to get some ideas and really reinvent ourselves a good school ...
