That's why you should read fairy tales to your children more often

Reading to children stimulates their brains and improves their language development, resulting in valuable vocabulary

Children and books: listening to a reading right away is good for the brain of the little ones. A fairy tale a day, but also a book of what the puppy is most passionate about. Bringing up healthy, sociable and intelligent children is not just thenursery but also a good book, which does nothing but benefit his little budding head.

In the States, the American Academy of Pediatrics offers pediatricians a recommendation: in turn, invite new parents to read aloud fairy tales and books to their children from birth. And the reason is obvious: early reading helps to grow and stimulate young brains.

Almost all the lines of research now link reading from the very first months of life to language development and also to real progress in school. One of the most recent research has reserved a closer look at what happens in a child's brain when they hear a story and helps explain why reading to children is so incredibly important.

The new study used the magnetic resonance to observe the brain activity of children between the ages of 3 and 5 when their parents read them a story. The researchers found that young children's brains literally "lit up" when they heard the stories, especially if they were at home.

And the area of the brain that showed the most activity was in a region of the left hemisphere called parietal-temporal-occipital, area associated with sound and visual stimulation (and is the part of the brain that is activated when older children read alone).

In short, the assumption is only one: reading to children stimulates the brain and improves language development, giving rise to a valuable vocabulary. In addition, it helps children to become better readers and better students, stimulates their social skills and creates the habit of listening in the child.

What are you waiting for, then! Devote a portion of your time to reading fairy tales to your little ones. Read a book, too before going to bed, and never miss an opportunity to take a walk in the library all together!
