And in the end he did it: with his intense, harmonious, but always direct and sincere pen, Brunori Sas, aka Dario Brunori, beat the competition and took home the Tenco plate as best record of the year. His Chip!, published last January and preceded by the songs Beyond love and For two who like us, convinced the jury of the most coveted prize of songwriting and non-songwriting music.

Tenco 2020 Award to Brunori Sas

The best album of 2020 is by Brunori Sas: the Calabrian singer-songwriter, in fact, won the coveted Tenco plaque thanks to his Cip !, a record that he himself has definitively a work that keeps a certain distance from things, but not for this detached: with this project, in fact, Brunori wanted to tell what surrounds him by taking a step back, as when one is in front of a painting and takes a few steps away to admire it in its entirety.

Therefore, it is a profound and choral story, in which the singer-songwriter describes love in all its facets: there is the one addressed to others, to oneself, to nature and, above all, the one that does not age, but learns to withstand the time and shocks of life, as in the case of For two who like us, in which the narrated feeling is mature, solid, deep.

Brunori, as we said, literally beat the competition and got the better of the other finalists, including the winner of Sanremo 2020, that is to say Diodato, in contention with the album What a wonderful life, and then again Paolo Benvegnù with Dell ' hatred of innocence, Luca Madonia with La Piramide and Perturbazione with (Dis) amore.

The other winners

Not only Brunoris Sas, however. Here are the other winners of the Tenco award:
