His taxi becomes a real one library itinerant, ready to bring culture to every corner of its city. We are in Iran, precisely a Rasht. Here the taxi driver Sahel Filsoof has been driving for some time with a series of books, hoping to encourage its passengers to read during taxi rides.
His car was transformed into one library mobile devices which he believes could help people solve many of their problems by harnessing the power of reading and culture. He encourages passengers to read in his taxi which is why he has created this kind of "knowledge car".
His cab displays approx 50 books on different topics, including psychology, children, history. The man already has a good following. The fans of his taxi-library are mainly women and young people.
But Filsoof does not want to limit itself to the volumes already in its possession. For this he asked the authorities of the public libraries from across the northern province of Gilan to support his idea by helping him buy more books to increase the quality of his library.
This way, your passengers will have a greater variety of books available.
“When I run into a passenger who asks me for a book to read, I realize that I'm doing a good job,” he said.
A beautiful initiative that already has precedents, even in Iran. Mehdi Yazdani and Sarvenaz Heraner are at work in the sprawling Iranian capital Tehran. The couple offers passengers boarding their taxi a series of books. A productive way to spend time amidst the traffic of chaotic Tehran, with its 9 million inhabitants.

Yazdani arranged his sedan with a series of shelves as if it were a bookcase. Inside you can find international best-sellers in various languages and Iranian classics. His goal was to create a mobile library that would inspire young people.
Most passengers are grateful for a few minutes of peace and quiet in the midst of Tehran's urban hubbub. Their idea became more and more famous to the point that the Iranian Minister of Culture took a taxi ride last year. The United Nations recently awarded Mehdi and Sarvenaz with an international peace prize.
Not just Iran. Also in the streets of Buenos Aires circulates a tank (a 1979 Ford Falcon) adapted to house thousands of books. The huge means of mass education is now a symbol and brings free books throughout Argentina.
When we say… vehicles of culture.
