Waste becomes art, once again. In Portugal here is a new spokesperson for Trash Art. Humanity is truly phenomenal in producing waste and from time to time some creative mind decides to turn it into art to raise awareness of this very important issue.
Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerousMost of the planet's waste ends up accumulating in landfills or polluting coasts, seas and oceans, creating real and proper plastic islands. Part of this waste is recovered and transformed into works of art.
In the past we have introduced you to various artists who can transform waste into original works, but now here are the extraordinary creations of the Portuguese artist Bordalo II. These are huge sculptures that reproduce different species of birds.
Bordalo II creates bird sculptures in his hometown, Lisbon. He realizes them entirely with the recovery of waste and waste materials. It collects everything from tires, to plastics, to metal objects abandoned in landfills or along city streets.
From these materials now considered of little value assembles large sculture in 3D that seem ready to be part of the scenography of a science fiction film. They are truly spectacular in our opinion. Admire them in these images.
