Moss graffiti is part of a new project that aims to make the air of our cities cleaner and to protect it frompollution caused by traffic. Jennifer Illet took part in the fair Artistic Project Toronto 2014, on the occasion of which she was asked to make available her talent as an illustrator to create green works of art.
Sprout Guerrilla he exploited his artistic inclination to improve his projects for the use of moss both from an aesthetic point of view and from an environmental sustainability point of view. Jennifer Illet brought her works to life starting from the kits made available right from Sprout Guerrilla.
The moss, dried and shredded, is mixed with nutrients that make it easily applicable on surfaces and that transform it into an ideal material for artists. Illet sees moss graffiti as an extension of her work as an illustrator, now done in an unusual medium, replacing pencils and paints.
The type of moss used resists well even in the shade and in the interior spaces. It acts as a natural filter that can be useful for purifying the environment and the air of the home, office or art gallery. Moss graffiti aims to re-evaluate the role of nature with respect to technology and offer observers the chance to take a moment to take a break and admire what art and greenery have to offer.
