According to experts, all the materials confirm the dedication of the temple that overlooked the Gulf of Naples to the couple Heracles and Athena, in a completely similar way to a sanctuary in Privati that stood in nearby Stabiae, on the other side of the Sarno river. , also from the XNUMXth century BC, which returned an antefix of Athena similar to the Pompeian one. The possibility is not excluded that the antifixes of Pompeii and Stabiae were made by the same person.
