    420 red panties and white and dozens of photos of women with faces stained with blood: an outdoor installation to reiterate once again that the violence against women it must be stopped.

    The number 420 was not chosen at random, but it is bitterly that of women in Brazil who suffer violence every 72 hours, for a total of 50 thousand a year. Huge high-impact photos stand out on the famous beach, after yet another case of the 16-year-old teenager raped from a herd of 30 men right in the Brazilian country.

    The authors had even immortalized everything in one video then posted on Twitter. And for the umpteenth time, she was the girl who had become a double victim. “They raped me, but they say it's my fault. They took everything from me, even my body, ”she said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

    In “I'll never be silent” the twenty models are portrayed with the red sign of a hand on the face, symbol of silence, abuse, of fear but also of subjugation.

    La mostra at Freitas opens a painful page of our society, violence against women is a widespread crime all over the world and not only in Brazil where since 2014 it has counted over 47 thousand rapes. Chilling data on which the photographer invites us to reflect in a broader sense also in view of the next Olympics.
