La street art has no age and breaks down stereotypes. It happens in Portugal. Graffiti and street art have often contributed to deepening the misunderstandings between young and old, but now something is changing in Lisbon.

The association was born in Portugal The 65s who is striving for break down age-related stereotypes and to transform the elderly into real street artists, providing them with spray paint cans, masks and gloves. In Lisbon, the initiative involves a group of at least 100 elderly people.

The association also deals with identifying suitable places in the city where to make gods graffiti with spray cans. It is a real artistic project dedicated to the elderly that starts from participation in workshops where you learn the history of street art and the use of stencils.

In this way the elderly contribute to improve the appearance of the grayest and most degraded areas of the city. The main objective of this project is to help the elderly to approach new forms of contemporary art and above all to entertain them. Judging by the images depicting their street art works, it seems that the elders of Lisbon are doing a really good job.
