Thanks to a new partnership between Honda e SolarCity, in the United States it will be possible to choose solar energy for your home at a reduced price, with a discount equal to dollars 400 and the zeroing of installation costs of photovoltaic panels for those who will buy a hybrid or electric car.

An investment fund of 65 million dollars, equally divided between the two companies, it will serve to incentivize the switch to solar energy by American consumers, effectively removing the economic obstacle and encouraging wider adoption of solar energy. Thanks to this collaboration, the first for any car manufacturer, customers of Honda and Acura dealerships will be able to install thesolar power at home at negligible initial costs depending on the plan chosen by the customer.

In fact, customers will be given the opportunity to pre-pay for solar electricity or choose a monthly payment that will be less than the cost of your current bill, with insurance, repairs and tracking included.

The partnership aims to address global climate change by reducing CO2 emissions from home, work, and the energy consumption of transport. In addition, Honda and SolarCity will consider the possibility of integrate solar energy and electric vehicle charging, imagining a future in which owners of the Fit EV and Accord Plug-In Hybrid will be able to recharge their cars thanks only to the energy produced by the sun, thus reducing CO2 emissions to almost zero for both household electricity and mobility.

How SolarCity explains, this is a limited time offer. The eligibility of the client will also depend on the levels of insolation of the house, from the cconsumption of energy and the availability of local incentives. The photovoltaic system will be customized for each home, so savings and rental conditions vary according to the size of the system, government discounts (since each state has its own legislation), the price paid for retail electricity.

And here are the two possibilities: with Zero Down Payment the amount due at the time of signing the contract will be void, no security deposit will be required, but with the installation of a 3 kW system you will pay from 25 to 100 dollars per month, with an annual increase of 2,9% every year for 20 years; with the solution Prepaid, to have photovoltaics it will be possible to obtain discounts at the time of delivery of the materials.

SolarCity offers service in 14 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.

Lyndon Rive, CEO of Silicon Valley, he told Forbes: “It is really important in addressing environmental challenges. The time has come for companies to take responsibility for C02 emissions ”.
