An investment fund of 65 million dollars, equally divided between the two companies, it will serve to incentivize the switch to solar energy by American consumers, effectively removing the economic obstacle and encouraging wider adoption of solar energy. Thanks to this collaboration, the first for any car manufacturer, customers of Honda and Acura dealerships will be able to install thesolar power at home at negligible initial costs depending on the plan chosen by the customer.
In fact, customers will be given the opportunity to pre-pay for solar electricity or choose a monthly payment that will be less than the cost of your current bill, with insurance, repairs and tracking included.
The partnership aims to address global climate change by reducing CO2 emissions from home, work, and the energy consumption of transport. In addition, Honda and SolarCity will consider the possibility of integrate solar energy and electric vehicle charging, imagining a future in which owners of the Fit EV and Accord Plug-In Hybrid will be able to recharge their cars thanks only to the energy produced by the sun, thus reducing CO2 emissions to almost zero for both household electricity and mobility.
How SolarCity explains, this is a limited time offer. The eligibility of the client will also depend on the levels of insolation of the house, from the cconsumption of energy and the availability of local incentives. The photovoltaic system will be customized for each home, so savings and rental conditions vary according to the size of the system, government discounts (since each state has its own legislation), the price paid for retail electricity.
