How will we go back to school in September? Here is the Ministry Plan

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

No references to masks and plexiglass; differentiated shifts and divisions of classes into study groups, including interclasses. Where not already foreseen, we will also go on Saturdays and compulsory civic education is introduced. Wide autonomy left to the principals. These are some of the crucial points contained in the draft of the 2020-2021 School Plan that the Minister of Education will present at the Unified State Regions Conference to be held next Thursday.

There is no reference to the document in the document plexiglass and masks, if not that of the lack of obligation for the pupils of the nursery. Even teachers of children under the age of 6 will not be obliged to wear them, preferring visors. On the topic of masks, the discussion had heated up with the Regions who had asked to maintain the obligation only in the common areas and not at the counter. In the plan, therefore, the topic is almost "glossed over" with a generic reference to the provisions provided in the May guidelines presented by the Technical-Scientific Committee.

The canteens and canteens also remain confirmed, but without any indication on how to organize them. She remains firm that the snack will be consumed at the counter.

But how will the teaching be organized? How to deal with the problem of class overcrowding?

Differentiated shifts, work groups in the classroom, use of open spaces, at school even on Saturdays and use of distance learning as an integration. These are some of the points on which the Deans of the individual institutes will then be called upon to build an organization that is able to balance everything and maintain the right distance of at least one meter provided.

    Password Autonomy

The document leaves ample autonomy to the individual institutes to adapt to guarantee the organization in compliance with the anti-contagion rules based on the spaces available. In short, the resumption of lessons will vary from school to school with the Deans who will have to decide how to plan and adapt the teaching offer. But also the hours and, above all, the staff, both teachers and ATA: no increase foreseen by the document of teachers and "janitors". In practice, the almost impossible squaring of the circle is delegated to individual managers.

Also being able to start the teaching of civic education in all levels of education, including kindergarten, starting from the next school year, provided for by law 92 of 2019.

In short, at the moment there are still many doubts, starting with that of being able to guarantee an adequate offer to everyone, but what is certain is that, for sure, it will not be the same school we were used to and left in February / March . Especially in the timetables: how many institutions will be able to guarantee the same teaching hours with the same space, the same number of teachers and pupils? Many will be forced to do only half a day or, one of the things most feared by parents, not being able to welcome younger children who are about to attend the first year of kindergarten into classes.
