For 25 years, Turkish entrepreneur Safak Uzsoy has been hosting animals rescued from the street in his office. Today the company hosts 16 dogs and 10 cats.
Love for animals can take the most unusual turns. Safak Uzsoy, who lives in the western province of Izmir, Turkey, hosts dozens of 4-legged friends rescued from the street in his company.
Entering the Uz chemical factory in Izmir's Bornova district, you are greeted by festive dogs and cats, who come to greet those who arrive. The entrepreneur Safak Uzsoy, in fact, hosts 16 stray dogs and 10 cats in his office, choosing above all those animals taken from the street, which require special care and attention.
Here the dogs and cats move freely between the rooms and there are sofas at their complete disposal. The factory staff are not surprised at all, as they have been working with these ex-stray animals for years. Furthermore, every morning, before starting work, the entrepreneur takes his dogs for a walk of about an hour and a half in nature.
In 25 years Safak has adopted more than 100 strays:
I grew up in an animal-loving family. There was a cat in the house when I was born. At five, we had at least three dogs. All these animals are like our children. Our colleagues also love animals. Most everyone has a cat or dog in their home.
Uzsoy said that many of his friends would have liked to adopt the dogs and cats he has been taking care of for years, but, in agreement with his employees, he has always decided to decline the requests, by virtue of the emotional bond. Lknur Kula, an employee who works in the accounting department of the factory, said that the number of her hairy friends in the workplace is increasing every year and that they all get along very well with each other:
I love them very much. They always want love. Cats and dogs are our colleagues here. They also increased our motivation at work.
