    La regional law had been approved in July 2020 on the proposal of Fabio Tosi the previous year, but until now only Albenga had applied it.

    Now Genoa too, after Albenga, has finally given the final go ahead to let the children rest pets with their human friends and hopefully other Ligurian cities will follow suit.

    The burial of pets in the tomb of the owner or family is an act of civilization and, at the same time, of gratitude towards our animals for the company they give us and the love they give us every day - declared Massimo Nicolò, deputy mayor and councilor for civic services.

    Le ashes of cats and dogs they can therefore be buried in the tomb or niche of the owner or deceased owner with a cost equal to that foreseen for the burial of people; on the other hand, the burial of deceased companion animals but owned by people still alive is not allowed.
