Dirty painting: the Russian artist who paints on the smog of trucks and vans

What can we do with machine dust? Digging art in dirt answers the Russian artist.

Have you ever been tempted to write or draw on the windows of a dirty car? There are those who not only do not resist, but go far beyond a smiley face or a simple message like "Clean me". Russian street artist Nikita Golubev transforms the dust from cars, trucks or vans into real masterpieces. Undoubtedly, an unusual and very creative way of showing his art of him in public spaces.

Between 30 and 90 minutes is the time Golubev (ProBoyNick on the net) needs to create one of his works of art, so ephemeral that it goes away in the first rain if not maybe even sooner. Our artist goes in search of parked trucks and dirty cars and, taking inspiration from everything that surrounds him, starts with Dirty Painting or Dirty Car Art. The result is truly fascinating.

With his art Golubev demonstrates the beauty of removing dirt and smog from cities.

Golubev is not the only artist who paints smog: even the American Scott Wade considered the inventor of Dirty Car art, painting right on the dirty windows of parked cars. (In this regard, he reads Dirty Car Art: works of art on dirty car windows). Over the years, the Florentine artist Alessandro Ricci has also explored the frontier of painting with smog to raise awareness on the pollution of cities. His paintings, however, are not dirty cars or trucks, but the gray traces left by fine dust on the most important monuments, such as statues, ancient churches and the Florentine cathedral itself.
