Hipp's multigrain cream may contain soy that is not declared on the label, says store chain Gros Cidac which has reported the recall and precautionary recall of a batch of the well-known baby food.

But Hipp defends himself, claiming that

the product does not contain soy and that this ingredient is absolutely not present in the production plant; we can therefore exclude any form of accidental contamination.

Meanwhile, the multigrain cream has been withdrawn from the store shelves. 

The story

According to what is read in the notice published by Hipp and published by Gros Cidac, the ASL of Alexandria after an investigation would have found traces of soy proteins not declared on the label in a batch of multigrain cream. The product in question is sold in packs of 200 grams with the batch number 61322940 191A and expiry date 30/11/2021.

But Hipp is absolutely certain that there can be no contamination, so he ordered a counter-report carried out on the sample left at the disposal of the ASL of Alessandria. The company then makes it known that it has already contested the outcome of the analyzes but pending the decision of the competent authorities, Hipp has in any case ordered the withdrawal and recall of the lot.

Although the situation seems clear, if you have purchased this batch and you know your children are allergic to soy, avoid consuming it.
