Together forever: the two cats Nikita and Leon, 21 years old, are adopted as a couple, among the oldest in the United Kingdom

Nikita and Leon are two beautiful black cats. They are elderly and they are brothers. But they were homeless. Now, after a massive social media adoption campaign, they will find a home in which to live their old age together.

They are a Black Shorthair crossbreed and have been inseparable all their lives, until they were taken to the British animal welfare shelter RSPCA in Northamptonshire.

The volunteers then immediately launched an appeal to find them a new home where they could be together. And they were unexpectedly inundated with hundreds of offers from around the world.

"They are both in good health, but Nikita has just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She will need blood tests in the next few weeks / months at our vets to check how she is responding to medications."

For this reason, the adoption team is now examining the numerous requests that have arrived, to find them the best possible home, without them having to stray too far from the shelter, so that they will continue to be followed.

Fantastic news because, although they are old, they have been given a new chance.

So good life, Nikita and Leon!
