Some believe that the M on the forehead is the sign that we are in front of a cat of the Abyssinian breed, while according to others the roots of the presence of this letter are to be found in myths and religious traditions.
Here, for example, the presence of M in legends related to Christmas it would derive from the help offered by a cat in warming baby Jesus while he was in the manger. Maria would have rewarded and thanked the cat by leaving the initial of her name as a mark on her forehead.
This could be a very fanciful explanation to justify the fact that cats are often attracted to the crib, the hut and the manger. How about? Some street cats nowadays they go to seek some warmth right in the manger of the cribs outdoors of big cities.
