Design shelters to help all the stray cats in the city. It happens in Los Angeles in California, where Architects for animals has launched a beautiful solidarity initiative: giving a roof to those who don't have it.
There are all kinds of them: whimsical, colorful, elegant, of high design and they are all shelters that are the result of a campaign launched by Architects for animals that invited American architects and designers to design houses suitable for the stray cats of the city.
The result is amazing, so much so that the refuges have nothing to envy to real ones artwork. All were showcased at different events and then sold to the highest bidder.
The proceeds? Donato to organizations that take care of animals in need thanks to the FixNation organization which for years has been trying to save the highest number of puppies and not only that live on the street.
From colored glass cathedrals, to Korean moss and grass, from spirals to poufs, architects and designers have used recycled materials to support not only the animal rights cause, but also the environmentalist one.
“This year's shelters are extremely creative and the designers have taken care of everything down to the smallest detail. They are truly works of art with a practical application ", said the co-founder of FixNation, Karn Mayers.
Each year, the event gathers the likes of Charlize Theron, Beau Bridges, Elvira, William Shatner, Clint Eastwood, Tricia Helfer and Morgan Fairchild and many others who contribute to the cause.
As we know, Los Angeles is home to strays, it is estimated that there are at least three million of them. With the auctioning of these shelters it will be possible to buy food and ensure the necessary care for many of them. Well done!
