Sferasol: the sphere-shaped solar thermal

When you imagine a photovoltaic module you think of a rectangular structure, in which the layers of silicon or glass (in the case of solar thermal) are assembled together to form a sort of 'sheet'. When you imagine a solar panel we think of a rectangular structure, in which the layers of silicon or glass (in the case of solar thermal) are assembled together to form a sort of 'sheet'. But that's not always the case. It is not in the case of Sferasol, the solar thermal panel which is shaped like a sphere that installs easily anywhere on any surface.

Thanks to its particular shape, the special 'panel' whose original idea dates back to 1978, is able to optimize every minute of exposure in this way. Its capturing surface, despite its size, is of 4,5 m² and inside it has an accumulation tank from 150 liters of water.

Why give it this shape? The advantages are various, first of all because its surface is thus constantly exposed to the sun's rays at any time of the day, allowing the water contained within it to quickly reach high temperatures both with direct and diffuse irradiation. . And then because the device is easily transportable, it can be changed of place inside the house and in the model with internal accumulation it does not require further additional components. A plug and play system, which can be connected directly as if it were a classic electric boiler.

His too usi are varied: they range from domestic hot water to underfloor or baseboard heating up to the maintenance and heating of the swimming pools. How does it work? The thermal fluid contained inside the sphere is heated by passing 2 times under the sun, and then going to carry out it heat exchange.

Finally, Sferasol falls within the incentives of 55% regarding the energy efficiency of buildings. This means that its purchase will allow you to deduct 55% of it in 10 years. The cost is around 4 thousand euros.
