A little color and lightheartedness is what it takes for children to better cope with the not-so-pleasant experience of an MRI. Here then, at the pediatric hospital in Bari, the ward has turned into a sea full of fish, ships and starry skies.

A little bit of color and lightheartedness is what it takes for children to be able to better deal with the experience, not exactly pleasant, of a magnetic resonance. Here then, at the pediatric hospital in Bari, the ward has turned into a sea full of fish, ships and starry skies.

Colored walls that tell or make you imagine stories instead of gray rooms and corridors, so the Magnetic Resonance Department of Giovanni XXIII in Bari has chosen to help young patients to better cope with their stay in hospital.

The drawings covered everything, including machinery, and the result was excellent. We are talking about the “Coloriamo la gioia” project born from the collaboration between the Rotary Club Bari Sud and the Masmec company, which financed the great change of walls and machinery in the hospital.

To enrich the department of seas, ships, dolphins, other fish and starry skies was Sally Galotti, Disney designer, who has already managed to transform in an extraordinary way aseptic hospital environments that have become decidedly more pleasant not only for patients but also for the health personnel who experience them every day.

It is not the first time that such an idea has been realized, we remember for example the Astro tac of the Child Jesus of Rome, but this time (and this is a first) the great change will be studied. Naturally, the research will be aimed at establishing how the perception of these new environments by those who live in them changes.

The inauguration of the refurbished and child-friendly ward will take place on January 22nd at 15:30 pm.
