Protect surfaces

To facilitate the removal of your pets' hair from furniture, sofa and floors, do not forget to cover the surfaces and spaces most used with Teli or of the easy to wash towels in the washing machine. This way, you'll have less effort when you need to vacuum. Consider it an opportunity to decorate the rooms of the house with brightly colored sheets, to change according to the seasons.

Antistatic furniture

Surfaces that tend to attract more dust will behave in the same way with animal hair. If you want a part of the house to remain as long as possible free from accumulations of hair, try to furnish it with furniture in naturally antistatic materials and therefore easier to clean and dust. For example, avoid velvet upholstery for chairs and sofas and you prefer natural surfaces for furniture.

Clothes roller

To remove animal hair from clothes and sofas it may be useful to use one of those rollers that are usually used to remove lint and hair from coats. On the market there are not only rollers with an adhesive and unfortunately disposable surface, but also products washable and reusable without creating waste. Try looking for them in supermarkets, pet and home stores, or on the internet. If you don't have a reusable roller available, in emergency situations try to wrap the Scotch tape resistant around one of the toilet paper rolls.

Rubber gloves

Another useful method for removing dog and cat fur from washable surfaces is to use the rubber gloves that you would normally use to protect your hands when washing dishes and cleaning. Put on one of the gloves, moisten the surface and wipe it over the points to be cleaned. You will see that the hairs adhere to the gloves in a short time and their removal will be easier. Keep a bucket of lukewarm water at hand to rinse the gloves. This method all right also for clothes, to remove the hair before normal washing.

Microfiber cloths

Large, smooth, lint-free microfiber cloths are one of the great ways to remove pet hair from floors. Try to mop them after having moistened and squeezed them. This way you will avoid using i disposable dust cloths. Before using the microfibre cloth, if the hair to be collected is a lot, sweep the floor well with the broom.

Vacuum cleaner

To reach the most difficult corners it is almost impossible to give up the vacuum cleaner. Some appliances are more suitable than others for removing pet hair and can be equipped with special accessories, so remember to check the instructions carefully of your appliance before purchase or use. In any case, for any vacuum cleaner, remember to change the bag often and check for any filters. The vacuum cleaner works less efficiently when the bag is full. If your vacuum cleaner has brushes, the long hair could get caught. Always remember to clean everything thoroughly after use. As for the carpets, don't forget to vacuum in several directions, even several times on the same spot. And, if you can, choose a low energy consumption appliance.

Broom and dustpan

If you are not very fond of vacuuming, and if you have to act quickly, keep the broom and dustpan handy. These are indispensable tools, especially during the period of the hair change. Especially if your vacuum cleaner is a little old, and if you are afraid of damaging it, clean the floors first in the most classic way.

To brush

Brushing our pets often. Here is probably the only method we have available for to prevent excessive accumulation of fur on floors and sofas. If we have the opportunity, we brush the dogs in the garden, especially if they are long-haired, at least once or twice a week. So we will eliminate the hair that is about to fall.

Clothes brush

The classic clothes brush, which is usually used for cleaning jackets and coats, will be good for removing dog and cat fur gently from other clothes, chair and sofa cushions, bathroom and kitchen mats and any surface in home fabric. You can use it before vacuuming if the problem is difficult to deal with.

Washable clothes and carpets

To make it easier to remove pet hair from durable, machine washable clothes and rugs, you can experiment with a quick fix to pretreat fabrics. Fill a spray bottle with water and add a few drops of softener. Moisten the surface of the carpet or dress and let it dry. Removing the hair will be easier. Finally, brush the dress or vacuum the carpet.
