Here is how the presence and the cuddles of the mother favor the brain development of the baby

Separating the baby from the mother and making the cuddling moments disappear could “derail” the baby's brain evolution.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Mother and child, let's give pampering so much power! They support the development of the brains of the little ones, as well as transmitting a lot of affection. In fact, separating the child from the mother and making the most loving moments fade could “derail” the baby's brain evolution.

To say this are the researchers of the Nathan Kline Institute in Orangeburg, in the United States, who in a research have shown a direct connection between maternal care and the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin, two factors known to be crucially involved in brain development.

That is, the presence of a mother and her attentions can have immediate and long-term effects on her baby's developing brain by modulating the serotonin system, known above all to be the hormone responsible for good mood: the more serotonin we have in our circulation , the greater our degree of fulfillment, satisfaction and psychophysical well-being.

Green light to sweetish approaches with our little one (but also in the family in general), therefore: on the other hand, the cuddles they were already known to be capable of a clear trace in the genes of the little ones, influencing their growth. In addition, another research from Washington University had already shown how feeding your preschool children with lots of love would guarantee them a more robust growth in brain structures connected with learning, memory and stress response.

In this study, by wirelessly recording brain activity during mother interaction, scholars led by Catia Teixeira provided evidence of a direct connection between maternal care and the neurotransmitter serotonin. The presence of the mother would increase activity in the prefrontal cortex of the little ones, a region of the developing brain rich in serotonin receptors. Blocking these receptors would be able to counteract this effect.

The result? It seems obvious, but maternal contact, as well as the serotonin system, is the most important "regulator of neuronal activity in the developing brain". In the absence of the mother and her warmth, the brain "derails" in the true sense of the word, with more difficulty in the path of growth.

Without a mother, masses are not sung: take it, cuddle it, hold it in your arms and, above all, be present!
