An animal shelter puts lonely pets in the Tinder dating app. Dogs and cats can thus find a new partner.
This animal shelter has created several profiles of abandoned cats and dogs in the Tinder dating app. The perfect match exists and is with a 4-legged friend!
The Munich Animal Welfare Association came up with an original idea for finding new homes for abandoned animals by posting their profiles on the Tinder dating app in the hope that even lonely humans looking for love can enjoy the company of a cat or a dog.
The App works just like between humans: the user can "swipe" - that is, choose - the profile of interest and hope to be chosen. Alternatively, on each Tinder pet profile there is the name of the shelter, a trick that allows you to contact the structure by searching for it on the internet.
It is funny. We thought we'd join the younger ones - sure, there are older ones on Tinder too - to follow a trend. The answer - from the users - is crazy.
says Jillian Moss, one of the volunteers.
The Association hired an advertising agency to take portraits of the animals and create 15 profiles.
We have already received several calls. We will do some preliminary interviews and then we will invite people to get to know the animals.
Benjamin Beilke, volunteer of the Association explains:
We purposely didn't take the cutest, smallest and most newborn kittens, but animals that have a history. I hope these animals can find a new partner, a "perfect match" that lasts over time. In addition to this, it is important for us to point out that there are not only lonely souls among humans, but there are also many lonely souls among animals.
An unusual but commendable initiative, which, by aiming to find the perfect long-term meeting, manages to counteract the terrible phenomenon of the abandonment of pets.
