Cassettes for many of us represent a dear memory of childhood or youth, for others they are nothing more than the symbol of an outdated technology. Still others have decided not to discard them, nor to keep them as such (due to the impossibility of listening to the music coming from them), but to place them at the center of some interesting and fun creative recycling projects. Chair
Here is a piece of furniture that in the future could turn into a unique design piece. It is a common wooden chair whose back and seat have been completely covered using cassette tapes of various colors. To complete the work we find a walkman, positioned at the side of the chair, with vintage headphones attached.
Lamp
Another original idea, conceived for the creative recycling of cassette tapes, consists in the creation of a cubic-shaped lamp, which adapts perfectly to being placed on the bedside table in the bedroom. Its lampshade was obtained through the assembly of cassette tapes, used to make the walls, the base and the top.

Jewel case
Cassettes can be an unusual coating to renew the look of a vecchio jewelry box. They can be used both to cover the lid and the external walls of a jewelry box already in your possession. It is also possible to build a jewelery box yourself from plywood sheets and later use the cassettes for its coating.
Cockade
Making your own rosettes allows you to give a new life to cassette tape, without ruining the latter, which can be used in other creative recycling projects. The tape should be gently pulled out of the cassettes so that it does not get damaged. It must then be folded back on itself and cut out to form a cockade, following the procedure presented in the following image.

Have you ever thought that old, now unusable cassettes, could have been transformed into a fantastic bag? The model we present to you was handcrafted in Berlin, by a very creative artist passionate about upcycling named Thekla. This bag could be the perfect gift for fans of vintage fashion and retro music.

Here is another example of creative recycling of a cassette, this time used to make a wallet. Both sides of the wallet were lined with one of the two parts of a cassette tape, which was split in half and stripped of the tape. It has been equipped with a hinge and has been designed to contain nnot just money, but also a mirror or keys.
Organizer
Starting from a group of cassettes of the same color, or of different colors, it is possible to create a desk organizer, which can be used to always have pens, pencils and scissors at hand, but also to store paper correspondence. The cassettes can be assembled together with glue suitable for plastic.
Notebook
Although we find ourselves surrounded by technological gadgets every day, such as PC, mobile phone and Tablet, a notebook for take notes that they really are indelible it is still necessary. Here is a creative recycling project which plans to use a transparent cassette for its cover, scraps of recycled paper for the pages and colored paper for the back.
Flower pot
Are sufficient 14 cassettes to make a vase for your flowers. Cassettes can be assembled together using glue and tape. The edges of the cassettes on the outside of the vase can be covered with colored trimmings or ribbons. The vase thus obtained will constitute a centerpiece definitely suitable for a dinner fromnostalgic atmosphere.

Clothes hangers
From Apartament Therapy here is a creative recycling project for the creation of a DIY wall hanger. It was developed simply using a rather sturdy wooden support to hang on one of the walls. The typical hooks of coat hangers have been replaced by cassettes, which have been specially shaped.
