In Japan it will be possible to take a sauna on an old bus converted into a small wellness center (and saved from demolition)

Have you ever imagined being able to take a sauna on an old bus? It may seem bizarre to you, but from February it will be possible to live this experience in Japan. The original idea came to Sauna Ikitai, the largest Japanese online platform dedicated to finding saunas in the country, which has decided to convert a disused bus into a small mobile wellness center that has been renamed "Sabas".

The vehicle was provided by Shinki Bus Co, a transport company based in Hyogo Prefecture, and has already been specially transformed and equipped with various comforts, although it has yet to be completed.

We have released the completed image of Sabas and the scheduled start time of the service!Do you want to deliver the sauna to various places?

The interior of the bus has been finished in wood to give the impression of being in a real sauna. The seats have been removed and replaced with clear benches and the buttons used to book a stop have become steam diffusers. The design chosen for “Sabas” is minimal and refined and some accessories, such as the hanging rings to cling to, have been kept.

The mobile sauna will be ready before spring 2022 and will make an appearance in various cities of Kansai. Tourists and residents will therefore have the opportunity to indulge in a little relaxation in areas such as parking lots or during events. And if the initiative were to conquer the Japanese (and not only), it is not excluded that other unused buses will be reconverted.

Maybe someone will turn up their noses, but basically it is a nice project thanks to which an old vehicle is given a second life instead of demolishing it!
