Because the law on anti-abandonment seats is madness. The petition that wants to stop it

After the many controversies about the law that obliges you to equip yourself with anti-abandonment seats, now comes a petition that even asks to abolish it!

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

After the many controversies about the law that obliges you to equip yourself with anti-abandonment seats, approved with months of delay but immediately made active, now there is also a petition that even asks to abolish it! Here because…

A petition has been active since yesterday addressed to the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, "the folly of the law - anti-abandonment stop" which calls for the repeal of the "anti-abandonment" law (Law 117 of 2018, article 172 of the new highway code).

Two important and perhaps little discussed points on the issue are highlighted by this petition. It is about the fact that the incidence of deaths from car forgetfulness is very low but also that the effects of these electromagnetic devices on children are not known (it must be considered that they are placed at a close distance and, in the case of long journeys by car, we speak of prolonged exposure).

It obviously starts from the premise that no child should die in a car, much less due to parental carelessness but, as we read:

"To think that an entire generation of children has to rely on the efficiency of electromagnetic sensors without knowing the possible negative consequences on health is irresponsible!"

Because the law on anti-abandonment seats is madness. The petition that wants to stop it

We then move on to the data, the law was made to save the lives of children forgotten in the car. Right, but how frequent is this dramatic eventuality? We talk about 8 children over 20 years (from 1998 to 2018)! The question is therefore whether the law is really made to protect their lives or for purely economic purposes.

Then there is, as already announced, the possible impact on the health of these devices. What consequences do Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other radiation have on babies and children who are exposed to them every day? As the petition recalls, numerous scientific reports try to raise public awareness against electromagnetic pollution, suggesting avoiding exposure especially in the case of pregnant women and children.

Child seats and anti-abandonment devices, on the other hand, force direct contact between the child and electromagnetic waves. The risks of continued exposure could even be infertility and tumors in the lower abdomen, problems that are already encountered more frequently than in the past. Obviously there are no studies that can confirm the danger of these devices but, in the eventuality, whoever launched the petition makes us reflect on the fact that perhaps it would be better not to risk the health of the little ones.

Last, but not least, is the fact that this law, unfortunately, does not address the problem at its root that is the fatigue of parents struggling with work, family management and so on, increasingly stressed, with little help and consequently at greater risk of blackouts even when it comes to their children.

"Unfortunately, it is not excluded that in the future children will still be forgotten in the car, because family politics and the precarious circumstances in which many families are forced to live will further worsen the situation (see the circumstances that led to forgetting children in the car) . Therefore, this law will not solve the problem, as laws and systems like these will accustom people to stop thinking and over time they will lose self-control because they will rely more and more on technologies and no longer on themselves ".

Indeed, on closer inspection, this law is quite questionable and it would probably be better to find more effective means to lighten the burden of families (also and above all to the advantage of children), rather than forcing them to buy a device!
