It is really true that you should never throw anything away, even the citrus peels for example, they can be useful for scenting the home, making original recipes, creating essences and much more. Aromatic stick diffuser: how to make it

If you want to perfume your home naturally try making this aromatic stick diffuser, very similar to those you may have noticed many times in stores.

You will need them the following materials:

  • Glass container, for example a small vase or a bottle or a jar
  • Wooden sticks (like those for skewers)
  • White alcohol (1/4 cup)
  • Water (3/4 cup)
  • 20 drops of essential oils of your choice
  • Lemon, orange, mandarin, grapefruit or lime peels
  • Fresh herbs or spices (e.g. basil, rosemary, cinnamon, cloves, mint)

Method

Select a glass container possibly with a not too wide opening, in this way the evaporation of the liquid inside is reduced and therefore your air freshener will last longer. Insert the peels inside of chopped citrus fruits to which you have scraped off the white inner part, the chosen spices and herbs, add then water and alcohol and immediately after drops of essential oils. Shake the container lightly to mix everything up a bit and finally insert the wooden sticks. Place the diffuser where you need it most, taking care to replace the liquid after 30 days to prevent the formation of mold.
