Just like little Alessandro Maria (saved from a haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) and Gabry Little Hero, Diana Bisceglia also struggles with a serious pathology: this time it is a haematological disease that has manifested itself in the form of edema in the legs and petechiae under the eyes .
In a short time, however, his marrow has stopped working properly and now does not produce white, red and platelet blood cells as it should.
“She is transfusion-dependent: she undergoes on average two transfusions a week at the Infant Jesus in Rome where she has been under treatment since the beginning of this story. The immunosuppressive treatment did not give any results so Prof. Locatelli showed us the path of bone marrow transplantation as the only way out ”, explains his father Michele in a post.

What can be done
At this stage it only serves a simple salivary swab to check compatibility: the appointment is for Saturday 6 July from 9 onwards in Piazzale Tecchio in Naples (Fuorigrotta district).
Marrow donation then consists of a blood sample (the stem cells are in fact taken directly from the peripheral blood, using a procedure called apheresis), but it is possible to enter the donor register if you are between 18 and 35 years old and weigh more than 50 kg.
A small gesture? It is worth more than 1000 words and can save a child's life!
