For this reason, the Swedish company urged anyone who bought the sticks and the instrument to prevent children from using them and to bring them back back to get the reimbursement.
Let Ikea know that all of its products and toys are tested e approved in compliance with the strictest safety standards. But obviously it was not enough since after the reports some gods were identified risks not covered by current regulations.
“We develop our assortment with the intention of stimulating children's creativity and encouraging play, a natural need of the little ones. Children don't think about safety when they play, so we have to do it for them when we create our products. For us at IKEA it is of fundamental importance to only sell products that we would also give to our children. However, despite having been tested in accordance with safety standards, we have decided to withdraw from the market as a precaution the LATTJO drum sticks and the LATTJO percussion instrument, per avoid the risk of accidents," said Cindy Andersen, Business Area Manager of IKEA for children.
