Goodbye cigarette butts? Absolutely not, at least in this local of San Paolo where they are welcome. And unlike what you might think, it's good. Here in fact the annoying butts they come punctually recycled and even transformed into children's surfboards, and what boards!

Customers of "Lar Mar", the name of the place run by surfers, which is also a shop and continuously organizes events, are warmly invited to leave their "butts" here. The goal is to collect thousands as part of the “Bitucas+Surf” campaign".

And for every 3.000 recycled butts, Neco Carbone, who is part of the team, will make a board intended for surf schools for children in need of Santos, on the coast of Sao Paulo, as stated on the club's Instagram page:

“Together with Neco Carbone we will give life to our Cigarette Board, a surfboard made up of thousands of cigarette butts collected here on #LarMar. Everyone can help be part of this project! Take the butts you collect home to Mar. Here we will collect all the butts! "

The idea was inspired by the “The Cigarette SurfBoard” project by designer Taylor Lane, creator of the first surfboard built with recycled material and winner of several US sustainability awards.

The “Lar Mar” restaurant is located in 613 João Moura Street in Pinheiros, where it is possible to unload cigarette butts from Wednesday to Sunday.
