Hollow stem grass, to be precise. It is grown and harvested by hand in the wonderful delta of Mekong, in Vietnam, then cut (the grass regenerates within a year) into sections of about 20 centimeters and disinfected by boiling, not using aggressive chemicals.
The finished product is suitable for both hot and cold drinks and here's the best part: the straw decomposes in just 15 days.
