DIY Christmas tree decorations with old light bulbs

You have some aside old light bulb that does not work? Creatively reuse it to make DIY ornaments.

  • Take the bulbs and after cleaning them gently, paint them with acrylic paints.
  • The ideal is to draw a draft of the design you intend to reproduce on a sheet of paper, then copy it on the light bulb with the help of a fine-tipped permanent marker, possibly of a light color.
  • Then just brush the different parts of the subject with the chosen colors.

You can also add elements such as ballet eyes, hats, noses and other felt details after drawing and cutting them. To apply them on the bulb use hot glue.

DIY Christmas tree decorations with ice cream sticks

If you are a regular user of ice cream on a stick, instead of throwing the sticks away from now on, set them aside after cleaning them thoroughly. In fact, they lend themselves to the creation of nice DIY Christmas ornaments.

By gluing them together with simple hot glue, you can make Nutcrackers, snowmen, Santas, pine trees to hang.

Just compose the character with the necessary number of sticks and paint them properly with brush and acrylic paints. Add a string or ribbon to the top and voila, you just have to hang them on the Christmas tree.

DIY Christmas tree decorations with old brushes

If you have some old worn brushes aside, recycle them for your Christmas tree. All you need to do is clean it and paint it with acrylic paints, including the bristles.

In this case, only the handle of the brush was painted and a white felt hat-band, two ballet eyes and a red mini pompom were added.

DIY Christmas tree decorations with corks

Corks are a great classic of DIY Christmas decorations. You can also use them for tree decorations, simply by adding some details to taste.

For example, you can make some little angels, gluing on the top a personalized wooden sphere with little eyes and little mouth. With a bow create the wings and apply them on the back, add a string to hang the decoration and that's it.

If you paint the caps white and add a pastel-colored felt jacket, you get a very delicate effect.

DIY Christmas tree decorations with metal bottle caps

Not only cork caps, metal bottle caps, such as those in beer, can also be recycled with creativity.

At Christmas they lend themselves to making cute and "super-recycled" tree ornaments.

  • Get three caps and paint them red, then add some burgundy glitter;
  • glue them next to each other to form a group of three with the help of hot glue;
  • add two leaves of green paper and a ribbon of the same color.

Otherwise, take a red ribbon, glue at least 3 caps upside down on it and with a permanent marker create the snowman's face and body.
