A huge one was born in China mosaic made only with plastic bottles recycled at the Embrace Cultural and Creative Park in Keelung, Northern Taiwan.

The bottle mosaic is inspired by one of the most famous works of Vincent Van Gogh, The Starry Night. This can be understood immediately from the title of the project, 'The Starry Paradise).

They were used to bring the mosaic to life 4 million plastic bottles collected in China, a fact that at least partially gives us an idea of the amount of waste produced every day in the country. The bottles were donated by the Chinese to the team that took care of the design and then the realization of the mosaic.

It is a large installation that extends over 53 square hectares of Keelung park. It is possible to visit the park to view the painting thanks to a path dedicated to tourists. The inauguration of the mosaic took place last December and hundreds of people reach this place every day to admire it.

The idea of create a large mosaic with plastic bottles was born thanks to the sculptor Wang Cheng-Wei with a single goal: to promote environmental protection and raise awareness of the issue of waste, without forgetting the importance of recycling plastic to encourage the reuse of the resources available to us.

Furthermore, the initiative has a beneficial purpose, given that the donation of the plastic bottles was accompanied by a sum donated to charity to an association that deals with offering help to people suffering from depression.

We hope that in the future, when the installation is dismantled, the creators of the project will remember to be consistent and to reuse the plastic bottles for other works or to make sure they are sent for recycling.
