He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

A real miracle that she is still alive. An owl was found in the fir tree that will become the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree that was cut down in New York and then carried for miles and miles. In all that time, the animal remained there. Fortunately he was rescued by a volunteer from the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center where he has already begun rehabilitation to be returned to the wild.

In 2020, trees are still being cut down to transform them into Christmas decorations, and this in itself is already news. The second is that once again, the hand of man manages to bring imbalance into nature. Yes, because this majestic fir that now dominates Rockefeller Center was the home of this Acadian owl and probably other wildlife. While he was being shot down in Oneonta, the owl remained there unaware of what would happen shortly.

The tree was loaded onto a truck and traveled nearly 300 kilometers. Arriving at its destination, during the assembly, a volunteer from the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center noticed that the little animal was there in fear among the branches. The animal was taken to the rehabilitation center, where experts have identified it: it is not a puppy as one might think from its size, but an adult Saw-whet, or the acadian owl (Aegolius acadicus) also called northern owl because native to North America. Among the features is its appearance: it weighs 100 grams and is just 20 centimeters, which is why it could be mistaken for a puppy.

The owl hadn't eaten or drank for days, and was nearly dying. Renamed Rockefeller, it has now begun its recovery journey and appears to be reacting well. Once it is in optimal conditions, it will finally be able to go free among its trees.
