A donkey was rescued from a flooded river last Sunday and thanked his rescuers with a fantastic smile. The donkey was stuck in a river and was spotted by Suzanne Gibbson in the town of Killorglin.

The woman shared a post on the Facebook page of the Animal Heaven Animal Rescue association, located in Ireland, to send a request for help on the Web, since she just didn't know how to intervene by herself at that moment.
The request for help was very lucky, given that Mike Fleming, from the Killorglin Rowing Club replied to the message and immediately went there in his boat. An intervention of this type was necessary, with the rescue of a boat, because any attempt to swim in the river in flood would have been too dangerous.
Thanks to the availability of a boat and the help of rescuers, it was possible to pull the donkey out of the water with a rope and a life buoy. After being rescued, the donkey surprised everyone with a fantastic smile of thanks, as you can see from the photographs that testify to this moving moment.
In this way the donkey was saved and he was able to join his owner and go home. He had fled from the place where he was because the strong wind had thrown open the fences and for the fear he had probably reached the river and found himself in the water and in serious danger.
Luckily, all is well that ends well and once again we would like to thank those who take care of protecting and saving animals, also running great risks for their own lives.
