We spend a third of our life sleeping, yet too often this activity is not taken into due consideration: the choice of mattress, bed base and even the bedroom furniture can really make a difference for the quality of our sleep and, consequence of our days. Furthermore, too often our mattress is not cleaned properly and becomes a receptacle for germs, mites and dead cells that can cause allergies and annoying breathing problems. For a faster cleaning, to be carried out more frequently, we suggest instead the adoption of this "grandmother's trick”: With a minimum expenditure of time and money we will be able to sleep on a clean and sanitized mattress. After having bare our mattress, removing sheets and blankets, we just need to sprinkle the entire surface with baking soda (we calculate about 250 grams for a single mattress) and let the product act for about an hour. After this time, let's arm ourselves with a brush and rub the baking soda dry on the mattress, insisting above all on the stains. Finally we can proceed to remove the bicarbonate with the help of the vacuum cleaner.
If we want to give a scented note to our mattress, we can add a few drops of essential oil to the bicarbonate before distributing it on its surface: in this way it will remain a pleasant scent for many days. We recommend using lavender essential oil, which has relaxing and calming properties, which will promote a peaceful rest.
