Take his sick dog in a wheelbarrow to his favorite mountain to experience the ultimate adventure together

A dog dying from leukemia received the best parting gift: one last hike up his favorite mountain

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Monty was a wonderful Labradoodle who enjoyed hiking with his owner Carlos. When he fell ill with leukemia and began to lose his strength, his human friend thought of giving him a great gift: one last walk on his favorite mountain, where they had lived a thousand adventures together.

So, a few days before he died, Carlos took his ten-year-old big dog to the summit of Pen y Fan in Wales' Brecon Beacons National Park. To avoid making his beloved Monty strain, Carlos led him to the top thanks to a wheelbarrow, from which he could enjoy that experience in contact with nature, caressed by the mountain wind. On the way, the two met several hikers who took Monty's story to heart.

Although he was weak, he enjoyed all the hype and attention received from so many supporters. The people in the hills were so kind and at the same time so sad for his deteriorating conditions "- says Carlos - Complete strangers asked if they could help me push Monty in a wheelbarrow during his last trip and many people shed more than a tear . I would like to thank everyone for their support, encouragement and sincere concern for Monty. That little guy has touched so many lives. He made everyone he met smile.

Carlos died a few days after the excursion (he had been fighting the disease for 18 months), while he was at the foot of his human friend's bed. But he left calm and grateful to have lived that last beautiful adventure in his place of his heart. Have a good trip, Monty!
