21 years old and not feeling them (at all), so it is for TobyKeith, a white-coated Chihuahua who just over two weeks ago was inducted into the Guinness World Records as the "oldest living dog in the world".

The animal resides in Florida, pampered and spoiled by his human and non-human family, but his life hasn't always been all roses because TobyKeith was welcomed by the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue shelter when he was just a few months old.

Here he met Gisela, his current owner who volunteered in the shelter, and who, after learning from employees of the arrival of that Chihuahua who had been called Peanut Butter, had offered to take care of him. From that moment on, pure love blossomed between the two.

Gisela has in fact adopted the little one, calling him TobyKeith, and ever since they have spent more than 20 fantastic years together. Already when the Chihuahua had blown out its twentieth candle, the owner thought it could be the oldest dog in the world and had got in touch with the organizers of the Guinness World Records who at the end of March confirmed the record as the oldest dog in the world. .

A Chihuahua is a dog with an average life expectancy of 12 to 18 years, which is why TobyKeith fully deserves this title.

But how does this dog come to this venerable age? According to Gisela, the secrets of her longevity are certainly a specific diet based on vegetables, rice and chicken, moderate but daily physical activity, no biscuits or snacks containing sugars and a house full of love.

They also seem to work great because TobyKeith, as well as his other four-legged brothers and sisters with whom he lives, except for a few ailments due to age, is in excellent health and is covered with attention.
