Timeless Sophie the Giraffe Baby Toy, Made of 100% Natural Rubber, Celebrates 60 Years and Saves Real Giraffes

The timeless Sophie the Giraffe baby toy, made of 100% natural rubber, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Now famous all over the world and faithful companion of every child, especially in the moment of teething, Sophie owes its ten-year success to its characteristics, which have always made it, in all its simplicity, perfect for the little ones (soft, easy to handle, with raised spots that stimulate sight and touch).

For the occasion, the company that produces it, which is called Vulli and is based in Rumilly (Haute-Savoie), invites all fans to create and choose the dress that Sophie will wear this year for her 60th birthday. The user can express his preference between 12 different models and 5 colors. The version most voted by a jury will be launched in production to be in stores from September 1st, simultaneously around the world, until December 31st.

The rubber giraffe has also sided in favor of her "real" colleagues, who unfortunately, as we know, are on the verge of extinction. There has been a decline of over 30% in the giraffe population over the past 30 years. The company is in fact committed to supporting the “Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF)” association to help save the species.
