Poland voted to ban fur farming, the law must now be signed by the President

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Poland, the third largest fur producing country in the world after China and Denmark, could put an end to this horror trade within the next year. The country, in fact, voted to ban the breeding of fur animals in the lower house of the Polish parliament, and now the law will pass to the upper one, in the hope of being signed soon by the president.

All of this happened after PETA Germany denounced the abusive and terrible practices of five Polish farms.

"The breeding of fur animals is an ethical question, but it is also a question of public health, especially in light of the current pandemic," recalls the animal rights association.

In fact, fur farms are also putting public health at risk, as well as being obsolete and cruel.

“When it comes to disease risk, they are no different from the live animal market where the novel coronavirus is believed to have originated. Minks with infections, sores and open and infected wounds caused by the metal flooring on which their legs rest are the "normality" in these concentration camps. Farmers and fur care workers are among those most commonly suffering from tularemia, the zoonotic bacterial disease, ”says PETA.

If the bill is approved and signed by the president, the law will go into effect within a year and add Poland to the list of countries that have banned fur farming, including Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovakia, United Kingdom. Unfortunately, rabbits are not included, and the ban only includes minks, foxes, and raccoon dogs.

But this bill will still save the lives of around 6 million animals a year.
