He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himThere is life in the Namibian desert, which blooms again after 3 years. Thanks to the abundant rains, some desertified areas have seen wonderful lilies bloom, to the delight of the inhabitants. A wonderful show that Mother Nature offers us for free.
Many national and foreign tourists are expected in these days to admire the show, hoping that this is done in respect of these wonderful and very fragile places. The last flowering had in fact occurred in the summer of three years ago. Furthermore, the Namibian sun shortens its life.
Desert lilies belong to the Hesperocallis family, which also grow in the desert areas of northwestern North America, northwestern Mexico, California, and Arizona. In Africa, and in particular in some areas of Namibia and Botswana, they are known as Sandhof lilies.
“Everyone is invited: this is a unique site in Namibia because there is no other area in this country that has approx 770 continuous hectares of lilies“- explains Herculus Jantze, regional councilor.
In fact it is a real show to see these bulbs from which some leaves grow and then divide into one or more parts. Each of them can reproduce in a luxuriant way giving life to a real show of colors.
