    - energy drink are harmful to children's health. Parents should not allow their children to consume these drinks. The pediatrician Steven Lipshultz began to worry about the energy drink problem after treating some children who felt sick after drinking them.

It has therefore analyzed the data of theAmerican Association of Poison Control Centers and found that 40% of calls to poison centers regarding the intake of beverages known as energy drinks, including Red Bull and Monster, involved children under the age of 6.

According to the expert, energy drinks should have no place in pediatric diets. His research results were presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions.

Il Lipshultz report reviewed calls received from 55 United States Poison Control Centers from October 2010 to September 2013. Of the more than 5000 cases involving energy drinks, 40% involved their consumption or accidental exposure by even very young children.

Parents do not always know that the consumption of energy drinks by children can have negative consequences for their health. Hence, the experts prefer to warn them. In fact some energy drinks can contain up to four times the caffeine present in a cup of coffee.

According to experts, excessive caffeine intake can lead to negative health effects on children, such as rapid heartbeat or irregular, seizures or dizziness. In addition, the safety of other ingredients in energy drinks is unsure for children, especially in combination with caffeine.

Dr. Lipshultz, as far as the United States is concerned, therefore calls for improvement of the information on the label regarding the caffeine content of the energy drinks and recommends that parents and all adults keep these drinks out of the reach of children.
