The designers who took care of Energy Carousel, this is the name of the project, believe that it is very important to teach children i alternative methods for the production of electricity. In this case, they will be the protagonists, thanks to body movements and a physical experience that can convey a fundamental message: a more sustainable approach to reality is possible starting from ourselves.
When children use the interactive carousel, thekinetic energy freed thanks to their movements it is captured by its structure e accumulated in a battery. The energy thus obtained is used forevening lighting. The principle underlying the operation of the carousel and the production of energy is very simple and recalls the dynamo area of bicycle.
Il light color produced by the carousel changes according to the amount of energy generated by children during play on a given day. The carousel is equipped with special ropes on which children can climb and swing. There are also swings and swivel chairs, thanks to which children can have fun while producing at the same time very precious energy.
