Eliminate phthalates and halve the plastic in the legendary Super Santos and Super Tele balloons

Super Tele and Super Santos balls become organic by eliminating phthalates from their composition and using 50% plant materials

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Generations of children, and even many adults, have played and continue to play using the legendary Super Santos and Super Tele. Now, even these historic and beloved balloons try to limit polluting substances that are harmful to the planet and health: in their new formulation, phthalates have been completely eliminated and the percentage of matter deriving from oil has been halved. The remaining 50% of material is of vegetable origin, coming from natural sources.

The products that we and our children use every day have a certain impact on the environment and, moreover, may contain substances which, in addition to polluting, are potentially harmful to our health. We have repeatedly told you about the phthalates that are hidden in so many products, including children's toys.

In every family there is at least one ball and in some cases this is a Super Santos or a Super Tele of the Mondo brand. Balls that have now become BioBall. What does it mean? They are made with a new phthalate-free organic formula which replaces 50% of raw materials of fossil origin with materials of plant origin that come from natural sources.

The BioBalls, of which Super Tele and Super Santos are only two variants, have obtained the "Ok Bio-Based" certification from TÜV Austria, the main European organic certification body that guarantees the high quality of the renewability of the raw materials used to make them. . Previously they were instead subjected to a test to measure the level of carbon 14 at Beta Analytic in Maryland (USA).

The new production process of the Bioballs will allow the company that produces the balloons to reduce CO2 eq emissions by 2000 tons.

A first step for the creation of more environmentally friendly balloons even if, as always, more could be done, for example by increasing the part obtained from vegetable sources and limiting even more the use of oil or, again, putting some recycling system in place to promote a circular economy.

However, these phthalate-free balls remind us how important it is to teach children not only the value of play but also the importance of playing with the utmost respect for the environment and our health.
