An interview with a 12 year old boy suffering from down syndrome is moving the web. The video “The Simple Interview”, shot by Giacomo Mazzariol, Giovanni's brother and 18-year-old video maker, went viral in a few days.
“Behind every person there is a unified world. Let's not just look at others with our eyes only. We are authentic, we are spontaneous. Let's make it simple, let's make it all true ”, here's the message profound that emerges from this touching interview.
The video shows us a interview-interview between brothers which makes us participate in the willpower, dreams and desires of a child with Down syndrome who would like to live his life to the fullest despite difficulties, thanks to the loving support of his family.
With this video Giacomo wants to demonstrate that there is no world made up of "normal people" and a world made up of "people with Down syndrome". We all live in the same world and every person should be treated with the same dignity and receive help based on difficulties, which can affect anyone, regardless of health or illness.
The video is structured on a imaginary job interview, in which little Giovanni answers the questions of his interlocutor. From Giovanni's answers emerge fears and desires, hopes and desire to face life. The questions take up the typical structure of a job interview: "Did you have work experience?", "Has he had many successes?", "What are his qualities?", "Why should I hire you?".
Giovanni's answers are not always direct, but they allow an inner world to emerge to be discovered and make us reflect on the reality that a person with Down syndrome has to face every day.
