The moving story comes from Brazil, from the district of the Federal Capital.
Ricardo has been a pediatrician for 10 years, lives in Brasilia and has been treating young patients in his new office for several weeks with the help of his wife, an otolaryngologist, after having provided voluntary assistance for over ten years in public nurseries in the city.
Alongside professional diagnosis and treatment, the pediatrician entertains children with his disguises and is already a public attraction, known to all as the Doctor Superman.
I spent the day attending nursery schools, but I often improvised, on a mat on the floor - Ricardo tells the local portal sonoticiaboa.com.br - I didn't have the facilities, but when the idea of a mobile office was born, I went to a place which makes kitchen equipment and we started planning what it would be like.
The mobile study is carried by the doctor's father-in-law who, per day, visits on average 40 children who could not afford expensive treatment.
The incredible man also works (salaried) in a public hospital, and has spent some time saving money to invest in the project.
For now, the doctor works with the support of churches, community leaders and his own family and hopes that his attitude and playful way of serving will inspire other professionals to do the same.
Some have already said that they will do it too - he says - doctors from various regions of Brazil got in touch with me asking me how I did it. I'm happy to give this kick-off and be, in some way, an inspiration to help others.
Because the flame that ignites these incredible people spreads more and more and really sets the whole world on fire.
